Amanda Garrison-Lucas has been a leader in health and wellness for over 20 years. Her career began in physical therapy, where she soon realized she wanted to be more involved in helping the patient not just “rehab”. She began the journey of nutrition and fitness, and soon realized behavior was an underlying factor of wellness.

Amanda received a bachelor’s of science in alternative medicine, which was one of the guiding factors for where she is today. Her life experiences and mistakes & ignorance as a mother and wife were the other powerful roles in her decision to create Chews Your Health (CYH). In 2009 she founded Chews Your Health, LLC  a company built on integrity and compassion while evaluating whole-health.

As a Wellness Coach & Patient Advocate, she utilizes a whole-body approach to coaching and advocacy including but not limited to individual biochemistry, nutrition, stress maintenance, fitness, emotional health, and weight management. By supporting individuals from all backgrounds and circumstances with one-on-one personalized evaluations, she supports lifestyle changes, and reinforces personal accountability. She will bring you resources which are affordable, livable, and guide you to be your true self.

I work with employers to develop sound financial wellness programs for their employees. Employee financial wellness programs focus on an employee’s overall financial “health.” In many ways, these types of programs are just as important as those aimed at curbing smoking or losing weight. After all, when employees are overly worried about paying for a child’s college tuition or their ability to sustain themselves through retirement, it may have an impact on their physical health.

Employees who are financially healthy may be less distracted by money problems and better able to focus on their jobs. Also, employees who are offered assistance in financial planning and saving for the future may greatly appreciate assistance in this area. They’re more likely to remain loyal to employers providing such a program, thus helping to reduce turnover in the long run.

In addition, having a viable financial wellness program is often a highly attractive recruitment tool. This demonstrates to interested job applicants that an employer is genuinely concerned about the well-being of his or her employees.

And finally, financial stress can affect employee healthcare costs. If an employee is not as stressed financially he or she is less likely to utilize employer healthcare options, lowering overall healthcare costs for the employer.
